Sarah's Spots

A couple things about Sarah:
She loves to draw. I got piles of notebooks for 10 cents a piece during the back to school sales and she loves to go through them and draw one thing on each page. I think half the fun is making a mark on a clean sheet of paper. Last night we learned how to trace our hands on paper.
Her favorite book (this week) is Put Me in the Zoo by Robert Lopshire. She is now walking around threatening people to put her spots on them.
She thinks the big bad wolf lives in her room.
And she likes to blow people's houses down.
She is incredibly picky about her clothing. Yesterday I finally took her shopping because the only thing she would put on without a fight were the two orange bear t-shirts Jean bought her and three pairs of shorts.
So yesterday she picked out a snowman t-shirt and a purple pair of pants with a belt that has spots on it and of course...the "spotted" pajamas she's wearing.
Sarah refuses to have any other blanket in her crib except her pink strawberry shortcake blanket. It's small, so when she rolls around at night it doesn't keep her covered. So I feel like the only responsible thing to do is have her wear footie pajamas so she stays reasonably warm.
Her favorite food is candy--lollipops mostly...and mints. But she likes Ranch dip with a little broccoli and frozen blueberries too.
She's a bit tenacious. I think she gets it from Silly Pa.
Funny Story: So Tuesday I was at Roots getting pretzels for Em's party on Saturday and Sarah was with me. So when we got out of the car, Sarah saw an Amish horse and buggy and was all excited about the horse. So we went over and said hi to the horsey, did what we needed to do at Roots and headed back towards the car. Well, as we approached the horse, the Amish man the horse belonged to was standing next to it: long beard, suspenders, big straw hat--the whole garb. We get right up close to him and Sarah gasps excitedly (and very loudly), "Mamma, there's the cowboy!"
She's terribly two and I love it.

Hi Sarah,
How much fun you are having with your mommy. I wish I could be there to help you color in your notebook. Tell your mommy we loved the pictures and she can keep them coming. Hugs and kisses to a special little girl.
